All students at GCSE who have learned their revision cards, completed all their homework and set tasks have all passed A* - C. [9-4]
All students have exceeded their estimated grades in their KS2 SATs.
All students who have worked hard, completed all their homework and set tasks have passed their 11+ and gone to their chosen school.
All children have different characters, different needs and different abilities. It takes an experienced teacher, who has taught across all Key Stages, to understand what students need to learn and why?
It takes years of experience and successful teaching practice to be able to identify these learning needs and know how to adapt the teaching methods in order to ensure that each individual is able to progress and exceed their own expectations.
Large companies may offer cheaper tutoring and that is because they do not tailor their tutoring to your childs needs.
They have bulk, block lesson plans that are given to their tutors, which they are required to follow regardless of what your child needs to learn.
I am heavily subscribed to, which often results in waiting lists. So ensure that you contact me as soon as possible in order to book in when you would like you son or daughter to be tutored.
Very few have my success rate, experience and dedication.
Very few are prepared to go the extra mile for your child: making free resources, exam cards, devising games, setting and marking homework, spelling tests, reading levels etc.
I have been, and continue to be, an examiner at KS2 and GCSE, so I have a unique insight into what the examiners are looking for and I can therefore educate my students how to use the key words to formulate exam answers: which key concepts to learn: and how to adequately prepare to ensure that they succeed.
I am reliable, professional, will provide one to one help and tuition.
I'm also a lot cheaper than most: £40 per hour sounds a lot I know but when others charge £45-£60 an hour I'm not expensive.
Even those offering 3 hours for £50 - be aware - they are group sessions and they will not teach your child's needs and if they teach foundation and your child is doing higher they will not change to meet your child's needs.
I provide all the resources, this is huge amount of money on paper, ink and printing. I mark all the work completed, providing written and verbal feedback. This can be as long as 3 hours per science paper - time you are not paying me for.
Also you'll find that the majority of tutors now do so online, as they are actually still students themselves and haven't completed their own degrees yet, so have no experience or qualifications whatsoever in examinations or teaching.
I provide each GCSE client has their own A4 exercise book, with their own set of revision notes [which I personally write] and key instructions on how to carry out processes [Math/Numeracy] that they will be tested on, as they move forward, to ensure their understanding and reinforce the confidence as they progress.
But don't just take my word for it: read the student and parents testimonials that they have posted on here. Just click on the relevant button at the top of the screen.
100% Experience is what any good tutor should have, in order to secure excellent understanding of the child's needs: regardless of age, subject or Key stage.
I have been trained to teach all subjects at KS3 however, I specialise in all 3 Sciences [Biology, Chemistry and Physics] and Math.
Experienced tutoring, marking, examining are all required, so that your child is guided positively with first-hand experience and advice in order to achieve success.
Most schools are wonderful however, if your child cannot attend school do not panic, I am here to help.
It doesn't matter what age they are 4-16, if you need a tutor to educate your child during their normal school day, please get in touch.
Whatever the reason: Whether they have been excluded for behaviour? Have medical needs that prevent them from getting to school? Bullied and no longer wish to attend school? You simply are not happy with the level of teaching being offered at school?
During the hours of 10:00 to 14:00 I can provide excellent tutoring in any of the National Curriculum areas. Regardless of Key Stage or SEND Needs.
Your child can still sit their relevant exams. They just need to be adequately prepared.
If the council wants to check on your child’s education: The council can make an ‘informal enquiry’ to check your child is getting a suitable education at home. They can serve a school attendance order, if they think your child needs to be taught at school.
This is nothing to be concerned about.
If tutored by me, when they visit they will see clearly that your child has received appropriately planned education, have improved their knowledge and ability, and are working hard.
“The respect of parent's freedom to educate their children according to their vision of what education should be has been part of international human rights standards since their very emergence."
UK law is clear, parents are responsible for the education of their offspring regardless of whether they are in school or out of it.
In law, the right to an education is an obligatory right, it may neither be denied to, nor refused by, a child.
Thus since children may not refuse education and there is no academic consensus on what constitutes an effective education, it is believed that the state must be flexible in defining what a 'suitable' education is.
As a parent, you must make sure your child receives a full-time education from the age of 5 to 18, but you don’t have to follow the national curriculum.
Nobody knows exactly how many children are being educated at home because many parents are under no obligation to tell the authorities. But freedom of information responses provided to Education Guardian indicate numbers are rising.
Responses from 134 of England’s 153 local education authorities list 30,298 children as receiving home education in 2014-15. Of these, 13,007 are of primary age, and 17,291 of them are between 11 and 16. As of 2023 this has risen to 180,000 being taught at home.
In some of England’s largest local authority areas, thousands of young people are being home educated: Kent listed 3,373 children; Essex, 3151 and Norfolk, 1,925. About 85% of local authorities documented a rise in home education over those three years, with 27 authorities reporting a doubling of numbers.
Right now 180,000 children are being home educated in the UK and that figure is rising by 12 per cent every year.
Marta Drew says:
“The decision to home educate has been one of our best as a family.
We have grown closer, and the children have grown in their love of learning.
They are happy, enthusiastic children who love life.”
This logo is repeatedly used by schools and OFSTED however, what they really mean is "every child’s grade matters".
Schools are too political they no longer support their teachers or have the staffing numbers to adequately support SEND Children, they are only concerned about budgets and grades.
"Grammar schools in Kent are using ALevel students as they cannot find enough Science Teachers."
